SAMUT PRAKAN: Five boys from Buri Ram province were warmly welcomed at Suvarnabhumi airport on Wednesday when they returned home after winning the junior title at World Hip Hop Dance Championship 2018 in the United States.

They are Surakan Khrueayos, Natthachai Jaemjaeng, Nathapol Suthowa, Phubodin Phairoh, and Patcharapong Tawilbun. All are pupils at Thossaporn Wittaya School in Buri Ram's Satuk district.

Songkran Panpinit, director of the primary school, said the boys were champions in the junior category for contenders aged 7-12 in which teams from 50 countries participated in Phoenix, Arizona. The event ran from Aug 5-11.

"It is better than we expected, because we intended only that they gain experience," he said.

Mr Songkran said the school management would present a 50,000-baht scholarship to each of the boys.
