Mixed doubles pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran bowed out in the semi-finals of the US$2 million BWF China Open on Saturday.
The fourth seeded pair, who were chasing their second title of the year, lost to Guo Xinwa and Chen Fanghui 23-21, 21-19 as the Chinese players now hold a 3-1 advantage in their head-to-head meetings.
Dechapol and Supissara won the only title this year at the India Open in January.
Guo and Chen will play Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping in an all-Chinese title decider of the season's final Super 1000 tournament.
Top seeds Feng and Huang knocked out French duo Tom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue 21-19, 21-14 in the other semi-final on Saturday.
In the women's singles semi-finals, Akane Yamaguchi defeated two-time defending champion Wang Zhiyi 21-10, 6-21, 21-16, denying the Chinese an attempt at a third successive win at her home tournament.
Yamaguchi will play another Chinese player Chen Yufei in the final after the fourth seed defeated Tomoka Miyazaki of Japan 21-17, 21-15.
Chen is contesting her home event from position 1 in the women's singles draw following the withdrawal of injured world No.1 An Se-Young, the 2023 winner.
Women's doubles duo Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning defeated Baek Ha-Na and Lee So-Hee 21-9, 21-10 to progress to the final. They will face either Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto of Japan or Li Yijing and Luo Xumin of China in the title match.
