THAI A380 clipped by catering van

A Thai Airways International's Airbus A380 sustained minor damages after it was clipped by an air-side catering van at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport on Wednesday.

The airline said the damage forced the cancellation of TG931, which was scheduled to depart from Paris at 1.40pm local time for Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport.

The Airbus superjumbo was scheduled to carry 387 passengers back to Thailand, but no passengers were aboard the aircraft when the incident occurred.

The crew returned to their hotel and some passengers were transferred to fly on other airlines to Bangkok.

The remaining passengers will fly back to Thailand on the same aircraft once it is cleared, and they are expected to return today, the airline said.

"Thai Airways International will compensate passengers for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation," the airline said.
