TGB Gatehouse organises 12-hour spin-a-thon to raise money for Ukraine

TGB Gatehouse will be raising cash for Ukraine on Sunday.

It has organised a sponsored spin-a-thon to help people in the war torn country.

For 12 hours from 9am, people will take it in turns to cycle on a spin bike and everyone is welcome to get involved.

Event co-ordinator Sara-leigh Cain said: “Hopefully people will sign up so I don’t have to do a 12 hour stint!

“We’re hoping our members, leaders and young people will do it. A lot of people want to help but don’t know how, so this is a chance for them to get involved and also get some exercise.

“The bike will be set up in the hall in front of a window so people on the High Street can see and support them.”

Money raised will be sent to Ukraine via Nick Morris from Station House Cookery School in Kirkcudbright who lived in Ukraine for 20 years and last week set up an aid appeal for people in the country.
