Severe disruption has hit three London Underground lines this morning sparking rush hour misery for thousands of commuters.

Passengers have been hit by chaos on the Victoria, Piccadilly and District lines.

The Victoria line was earlier suspended between Brixton and Victoria, with severe delays later reported across the whole line. This was caused by a signal failure at Brixton.

The Piccadilly line was suspended between Acton Town and Uxbridge, and the District line between Ealing Broadway and Turnham Green.

There were severe delays on both lines after engineers worked to fix a faulty train at Ealing Common.

Frustrated commuters have taken to social media as they battle to get into work.

"Total nightmare at Brixton tube station this morning, a great start to my day," wrote one on Twitter.

TfL said London Underground tickets will be accepted on Southeastern trains and local bus services.
