Commuters are facing travel chaos this morning after five London Underground lines were hit by delays.

The Circle, District, Piccadilly, Victoria and Hammersmith & City lines were affected by severe and minor delays and part suspensions.

There were severe delays on the Circle line from about 6.30am while TfL fixed a faulty train at Paddington.

Services running clockwise were halted before delays were reported across the entire line.

The Hammersmith & City line was also hit with delays due to the faulty train.

District line commuters were facing severe delays and a part suspension between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road before it eased to minor disruption.

TfL also warned of severe delays between Ealing Broadway and Turnham Green earlier due to a signal failure in Ealing Common.

The Victoria line was hit with severe delays and a part suspension while a faulty train was fixed at Seven Sisters.

Commuters on the Piccadilly line were also facing severe delays due to the earlier signal failure.

A TfL spokesperson said: “We apologise to customer for the disruption they experienced on our network this morning.

"Our engineers have been working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible, and we have now resumed a good service across the Tube.”
