TfL announcer goes viral with boxing style 'LET'S GET READY TO TRAVELLLLL' train announcements

A Transport for London train announcer has been delighting commuters with his boxing-style service introductions.

As trains rolled into the platform at Bank, the announcer channelled his inner emcee, telling commuters: "LET'S GET READY TO TRAVELLLL" on the platform PA system.

In another clip he said: "This train needs no introduction. Weighing in at 600 tonnes of pure steel, always on time with zero delays.

"Introducing the undefeated, undisputed best train service in the world. Fighter, DLR Lewisham."

This prompted giggles from those in the station and masses of praise as he went viral online.

One commuter writing on social media said: "The DLR announcer at Bank announcing each train like it’s a wrestler is the best thing I’ve ever experienced on public transport."

Another, responding to a video, said: "Brilliant, deserved a round of applause for that."

His calls sounded reminiscent of legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer, famed for his let's get ready to rumble cry ahead of bouts.

Transport for London was told the announcer should be given an award for his work and a representative on Twitter said: "I think he should get one too."
