A bit more takeover speculation, albeit with a Friday-ish feel to it. Broadcaster ITV - which has been testing new lows in recent days - is edging higher as traders report some interesting buying.
Last year satellite broadcaster BSkyB snapped up 17.9% of ITV for £940m in a dramatic dawn raid.
Sky may now have to sell some or all of the stake after a ruling from the Competition Commission. But traders said they believed some of the banks involved in the original raid were back in the market today, although clearly not acting for Sky.
Meanwhile waste management group Biffa - tipped as a possible takeover target for a European group such as France's Veolia Environnement - added 19.5p to 280p.
