Do you need an excuse to text your situationship “new year, new us”? Do they have a pool? Well, you’d better text them ASAP! ‘Cos four states will be enduring temperatures towards the mid-to-high 40s this week.
According to Weatherzone, a hot air mass is set to spread across the states, causing a rise in temperature for Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
Scorchers are expected to hit WA in the next few days, with large areas of the state forecast to reach low-to-mid 40s by Monday. The hot air will then spread towards Australia’s east from Tuesday next week, easing into South Australia, Central Australia, before oozing into Victoria and NSW from Wednesday to Tuesday.

Although the brunt of the heat will occur inland, Weatherzone says major cities will not escape the scorching temps — so text that person with a pool NOW.
Adelaide is forecast to reach 39-41°C on Wednesday and Friday next week, while Melbourne is predicted to cop temps of 30-39°C from Wednesday to Friday.
However, Weatherzone meteorologist Ben Domensino says, “it’s too early to know exactly how hot this air mass will be as it spreads” across the country next week.
“However, numerous computer models suggest temperatures could reach around 45 to 46 degrees in parts of WA, SA, Vic and NSW, with some spots possibly reaching about 48 degrees,” Domensino said, per 9News.
“The hottest weather over the coming week will occur inland, away from Australia’s state capital cities, but the major cities won’t completely escape the heat.”
Weatherzone warns that with soaring temperatures, fire danger ratings are more likely to elevate, noting that Friday looks like a “potentially dangerous fire day for parts of Southern Australia”.
So, with heatwave conditions reaching Australia — especially WA, SA, Victoria and Tasmania — Red Cross Australia urges people to stay inside, keep out of the heat, don’t leave children or animals in parked vehicles, and to keep cool.
