Texas State (0-2) vs. SMU (2-0) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Relatively quietly, SMU has had a great start to the offense ramping it up in wins over Arkansas State and Texas State – ASU destroyed UNLV on the road last week – and now it has one more tune-up before dealing with TCU on the road.
But Texas State should be a bit more than a speed bump.
The Bobcats pushed Wyoming last week while doing a nice job defensively of keeping games from getting out of hand. New head coach Jake Spavital has been able to get the Mike Leach-inspired passing game going enough to potentially keep up with the Mustangs a little bit, but Shane Buechele and the SMU O are humming.
Again, quietly, SMU will play well enough to get to 3-0, even if it’s not easy. Texas State won’t have the scoring punch to keep up in the second half.
