A Houston woman is calling Texas Roadhouse’s new little-known appetizer her “Roman Empire” after tasting it for the first time. Now, folks on TikTok are drooling over the steakhouse’s deviled eggs, begging the chain to make them available at all locations.
What did she have at Texas Roadhouse?
In a viral TikTok, @creekyvontiki films herself trying Texas Roadhouse’s deviled eggs. Her passionate review struck a chord with viewers, who have now added it to their must-try list.
“Texas Roadhouse has lost their minds,” Creeky begins. “They have deviled eggs with candied bacon on top.” Her plate contains 6 loaded deviled eggs. She picks up one, sprinkled with seasoning and bits of bacon, and takes a bite.
“I came here for the rolls, not to be emotionally challenged by an appetizer,” she says. “This could be my Roman Empire.”
Do all Texas Roadhouse locations offer deviled eggs?
No, it appears that the deviled eggs, which were introduced into the menu in 2024, aren’t available at all locations. This didn’t stop viewers from coveting Creeky’s appetizer, though.
“Texas Roadhouse near me doesn’t have these!! I’m so sad!” one user wrote. Another who identified themselves as a server at the chain said, “I work at TXRH.. and I don’t think we have that.. not at my location anyways lmao.”
A third user echoed, “Ours didn’t have these, they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for them.”
The top comment speculated that TXRH will overcharge for these, writing, “How to get people to spend $16 on 3 eggs.” But Creeky clarified in a comment that it was under $8.
In a comment, the TikToker–who is a self-proclaimed “deviled egg snob”–wrote that “the filling was fresh, smooth as glass and I know there is mustard and mayo involved. I cant figure out what the other thing they put in there because they were not over ‘eggy’ tasting. I was skeptical too.”
What did the TikToker say?
In an email to the Mary Sue, the creator confirmed it was her first time trying the deviled eggs.
“Honestly, I wasn’t prepared,” she wrote. “They were really good; creamy, smoky, sweet from that candied bacon and definitely worth it. I didn’t think I’d be talking about them to millions of people, but here we are!”
As for whether she expected her clip to go viral, the creator says she only thought a few people would get a laugh out of it.
“Suddenly there were 3.5 million views and people ready to ‘ride at dawn’ for these eggs and the fact I only took a tiny bite of the egg,” she said, saying it brought her a lot of joy to read the comments.
The creator said she could definitely see the deviled eggs becoming a new customer favorite.
“They hit that perfect mix of comfort food and being iconic,” she said. “Plus, people clearly have very strong feelings about deviled eggs. Who knew that was the internet’s uniting force?”
Why do they taste so good?
While the restaurant chain hasn’t revealed its official deviled egg formula, an insider shared what foodies speculate is TXRH’s secret.
“…Because of a little trick: mixing cold butter into the yolk mixture. When blended with mayo, mustard, and lemon juice, it gives the eggs that rich, silky texture you don’t usually get at home,” the blogger for Texas Roadhouse Menu with Prices wrote.
More TikToks of folks reviewing the appetizer have gained popularity in 2025. Despite Creeky’s passionate review — and TikTokers praising it online —it still has a long way to go before it surpasses Texas Roadhouse’s iconic rolls, though.
