Texas front woman Sharleen Spiteri would love to play new remix in Ibiza with GBX's George Bowie

Texas front woman Sharleen Spiteri says she'd love to go to Ibiza with GBX DJ and producer George Bowie to perform their new remix together.

Sharleen admits she used to dread the idea of Ibiza, and even turned down an offer by Roger Sanchez to play there, but she'd love to perform the banging GBX remix of Mr Haze there with George when it's released on September 22.

In a Facebook live interview for In The Lyons Den, with Record showbiz reporter Bev Lyons, she said: "Ibiza, think we need to do something live.

"I've never played Ibiza. We are literally massive in Spain but someone needs to sort out the old Ibiza thing.

"Roger Sanchez was always trying to get me to go and do Ibiza and we never did. I think we need to get some lined up."

Sharleen added: "I go to Ibiza on holiday every year, not this year and last year.

"I was one of those people trying to avoid Ibiza like the plague for many many year thinking 'Do I really want to go from London to 'London in the really hot sun', cause everyone I know was in Ibiza and I thought 'I don't want to go on holiday where I know everybody'.

"Then, one year, ten years ago I went and I loved it and go there all the time."

George and Sharleen loved working together on the remix of the track Mr Haze and Sharleen said: "The fact George picked up on the track and that he wanted to do something with it was a big massive compliment.

My daughter and I were in the kitchen when we listened to it and were just like 'Yeah!!!' I sent George a text saying 'This is F***ing brilliant'.

George Bowie, who joined Bev and Sharleen on the Lyons Den Facebook Live, said: "I was so glad Sharleen liked it because that was scary. I sent it off and it's like releasing a record - you don't know if people will like it.

"I get butterflies all the time. You put a lot of work into something and you want it to come off.'

"When I first heard Texas I was a DJ and my dad owned clubs and I got a promo from Texas and was playing it in the club.

"That's why doing this remix was so scary. I wanted it to work and I know Sharleen would tell me if it was rubbish."

Thankfully the mix is a belter and the balearics are in for a treat.
