Texas-based MMA organization: We want Greg Hardy to fight in Dallas in January

Texas-based Legacy Fighting Championship president Mick Maynard told The Dallas Morning News he would like to have former Dallas Cowboy Greg Hardy fight for his organization.

"We could have him fight for us January 13th in Dallas," Maynard wrote in an email.

One caveat. Maynard has not reached out to Hardy or his handlers.

The biggest U.S. mixed martial arts organization, the UFC, declined to comment about any interest in Hardy. A Bellator MMA official was unsure if the organization would release a comment.

Legacy FC is one of several feeder organizations into the UFC. The next Legacy event is Friday night at The Bomb Factory in Dallas.

Hardy announced via a statement to mmafighting.com that he is pursuing a mixed martial arts career. He wouldn't be the first NFL player to do so.
