Texas A&M’s Shemar Turner Apologizes For Vicious Low-Blow in Loss to Ole Miss

Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Turner apologized for delivering a violent low blow to Ole Miss lineman Micah Pettus following the Aggies’ 38-35 loss to the Rebels on Saturday.

Turner tweeted his apology on X (formerly known as Twitter) Sunday morning, saying that he was embarrassed by the action he displayed in the big SEC West showdown.

“I want to apologize for embarrassing myself, my family, and my team! My actions were unacceptable and stupid. I have to understand what teams are gonna try to do to get me out my game I let my emotions get the best of me won’t happen again period… #GigEm,” Turner wrote.

Turner’s vicious hit took place midway through the third quarter following a play in Texas A&M’s red zone. Cameras caught Pettus and Turner in a scuffle.

After an official blew the whistle, Turner was under Pettus. However, when Pettus stood to his feet on the field, Turner’s head was between his legs. Instead of the Aggies’ lineman standing to his feet and getting ready for the next play, a frustrated Turner delivered a brutal uppercut to Turner’s groin.

Turner was ejected from the contest as the Aggies (5-4, 3-3) registered their fourth loss of the season and the program’s fifth consecutive loss to a Mississippi school.
