Texans WR Keke Coutee is trending toward playing Week 2

The Houston Texans may re-add one of their weapons to an already potent offense. Wide receiver Keke Coutee, who injured his ankle in the first game of the preseason, was inactive in the regular-season opener but has practiced as of late.

As Coutee tallies consecutive days with a full practice, it’s trending toward him playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

“I’d say the arrow’s trending toward him being able to play,” coach Bill O’Brien said before Friday’s practice. “But I think we’re going to have to probably see that today, see how today goes and see how he feels tomorrow.”

Coutee’s most recent practice gave promise to his availability on Sunday; he hasn’t reportedly suffered a setback since sustaining the injury and is devoid of a “questionable” or “out” label on the injury report.

However, as of now, nothing is certain; despite his recent availability.

“We have a way to go before the game, but he’s— you guys have seen him, he’s been out there at practice, so we’ll see,” O’Brien said.
