Texans WR Keke Coutee is getting back to his normal self

Injuries haven’t been kind to Houston Texans wide receiver Keke Coutee.

In two years of play, he’s suffered a hamstring issue that lingered over an entire season and an ankle injury that forced him out of most of preseason, training camp and the first game of the 2019 season.

After three healthy games, Coutee is getting back into his groove.

“I feel like I’m getting back to my normal self,” Coutee said on Monday. “[I] know how my body works and I know what I need to do to get my body going, so I’m pretty fresh right now and ready to go.”

Though healthy, the Texans haven’t used Coutee much to start 2019. The former Red Raider has caught three passes for 18 yards on seven targets and rushed once for 10 yards.

However, with starting wide-out Kenny Stills injured (hamstring — status unknown), Coutee should see an uptick in snaps soon.

“The more I can do, the better,” Coutee said.

The Texans host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Expect to hear Coutee’s name called more than in previous weeks in a must-win game for both teams.
