Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins takes Boys & Girls Club kids on shopping spree

Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins took 10 kids from the Richmond-Rosenberg Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday.

Each of the kids had a $200 gift card and walked through Academy Sports + Outdoors with the All-Pro receiver.

“This is awesome,” Hopkins said via Mark Berman of Fox 26. “Get a little downtime, for to be out here giving back, expressing my interest for these kids, man, is something I don’t ever feel like I can get tired of doing.”

The deed is just another example of how Hopkins has used his platform as the best receiver in the NFL to give back and inspire hope in others. The former 2013 first-round pick from Clemson has embraced his draft city with numerous charitable acts over the years. No doubt Hopkins is following an example set by the Texans organization, which has been very involved with the Boys & Girls Club in the Houston and other organizations that strive to encourage, nurture, and develop underprivileged children.
