Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins leads NFL all-time in targets per drop

How many targets does it take until Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins has a drop? Pro Football Focus says 45.

According to new data released by the football scouting and analytics firm, the two-time All-Pro has a target to drop ratio of 45-1, which is the highest such rate since PFF started tracking the statistic in 2006.

The stat once again bolsters Hopkins’ case as the best receiver in the game today. Just throw it his way, and he will find a way to come down with the ball. There aren’t any excuses, and quarterback play doesn’t seem to be a factor into how elite he plays. Just take a look at the fact his first All-Pro season featured 10 games where Tom Savage and T.J. Yates, not sensational rookie Deshaun Watson, were starting quarterbacks. The Texans went 1-9 in those games.

According to PFF, Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald ranks second, former San Diego Chargers receiver Malcom Floyd is third, Oakland Raiders wideout Antonio Brown is fourth, and former St. Louis Rams receiver Torry Holt places fifth.
