Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins earns spot on Pro Football Focus’ team of the week for Week 7

Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins produced nine catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. While the effort wasn’t enough to prevent his team from falling 30-23 to the Indianapolis Colts Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium, it was enough to land Hopkins on Pro Football Focus’ team of the week for Week 7.

With an 89.9 PFF grade, Hopkins returned to the team of the week, joining fellow competitor in Colts wideout Zach Paschal, who earned an 88.3 grade after collecting six passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

Hopkins hauled in 9-of-11 targets for 106 yards in the Texans’ Week 7 loss to the Colts, including six first-down receptions and one touchdown. He also forced one missed tackle and gained 15-plus yards on three of his receptions.

Hopkins became the focus of the Texans’ passing game early as fellow receiver Will Fuller went down in the first quarter with a hamstring injury after catching one pass for six yards. Though Kenny Stills stepped up and caught four passes for 105 yards, it was Hopkins who was the focus of quarterback Deshaun Watson’s aerial attack.

If Hopkins is able to produce performances such as the one he did against the Colts, it is hard to believe the Texans will be on the losing side of the ledger very often.
