Texans WR Davion Davis done for the season with broken leg

HOUSTON — Houston Texans wide receiver Davion Davis is out for the remainder of the season due to a fractured lower left leg, coach David Culley announced on Monday.

During the first quarter of the Texans’ 33-13 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks, Davis sustained the injury after completing a 17-yard reception from rookie quarterback Davis Mills.

In October, Davis signed with the Texans’ practice squad following a short stint with the Cleveland Browns. He remained inactive until Danny Amendola went down with a knee injury during the Texans’ 21-14 loss to the New York Jets.

Davis made his debut with the Texans during a 31-0 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, where he missed a pair of Tyrod Taylor’s targets. According to Culley, wideout Phillip Dorsett II will replace Davis on Sunday, when the Texans square off against the 2-11 Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field.
