Texans Wire staff predictions for Week 9 against the Jaguars in London

The Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars renew their AFC South rivalry at Wembley Stadium in London. The Texans Wire staff took a look at the matchup and released their predictions for the Week 9 encounter.

Avery Duncan — Nothing about this game is predictable. We are seeing the Texans play their first ever game in England, the Jaguars without Jalen Ramsey for the first time and a Houston defense newly ravaged by injuries. In opposite fashion of how the Texans and Jaguars usually stack up, I expect an offensive game on Sunday morning. Both teams possess top-10 offense, but Houston has a man named Deshaun Watson on the sideline. Visor or not, No. 4 will lead Houston to a win at Wembley. Texans, 27-20

Mark Lane — The thing that is worrisome about the Texans’ approach to the game is they left on Thursday, 72 hours before kickoff. It is entirely new territory and they needed to have three practices over there to get fully acclimated to the time change. Houston could be walking into a trap, especially since the Jaguars are excellent at pass rush currently. With Deshaun Watson, Houston is never out of it, and he will give the British fans a few highlights at Wembley Stadium, but it won’t be enough. Jaguars, 27-19

James Johnson, managing editor, Jaguars Wire — Between the injuries within the Texans’ secondary and the Jags having to cover DeAndre Hopkins minus Ramsey, it will go down to the wire. Jaguars, 23-21
