Texans vs. Jags inactives: Hayden, Westbrook to sit Week 9, Tunsil ruled out for Houston

As we mentioned earlier, Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Dede Westbrook won’t be participating in the team’s Week 9 game in London against the Houston Texans — and neither will nickelback D.J. Hayden. The team released their actives list and both players were listed, putting the Jags down two key players in their divisional matchup that could be the biggest of the season.

Westbrook has been battling his injury since the week of the Jags’ victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, however, he was able to take the field against them. He was also able to play against the New York Jets the following week but exited the game early.

Hayden, on the other hand, was also pulled out of last Sunday’s game with a similar issue. With both players being important pieces to their respective units, it’s probably wise of the Jags to sit both as they will also get the bye week to recover, which will allow them to return later and help Jacksonville make a playoff push.

Joining the two as inactives will be notables Leon Jacobs and Quincy Williams at the linebacker position, both of whom were ruled out Friday.

The Texans will be dealing with some key injuries of their own, so the playing field could be even. They will be without starters Tashaun Gipson, Lonnie Johnson and Bradley Roby in their secondary. It was also announced that they would be without their star left tackle Laremy Tunsil, too, on Sunday morning. That means reserve tackle Roderick Johnson will likely play in his spot upon kickoff.

There full list of inactives are as follows:
