Texans 5th drive (8 plays, 52 yards, 3:53) — Houston gets off to a great start with RB Rex Burkhead rushing up the middle for 15 yards. QB Davis Mills also finds WR Chris Conley for 18 yards on a third-and-3 from Houston’s 47-yard line. The Texans get into Chargers territory, threatening at the 35-yard line, but C Jimmy Morrissey gets his second holding call of the day to back up Houston second-and-20. The Texans setup a third-and-8 from the Chargers’ 33-yard line, but Mills goes too high for WR Phillip Dorsett. K Dominik Eberle goes wide left on his 51-yard field goal.

Chargers 6th drive (11 plays, 41 yards, 5:25) — On a third-and-11 from the Houston 46-yard line, rookie LB Garret Wallow has RB Joshua Kelley stopped short of the sticks, but misses the tackle to keep the drive alive with a 14-yard gain. The Texans get a big play to doom the Chargers’ drive with DL Chris Smith sacking QB Justin Herbert on a second-and-8 from Houston’s 12. Tack on a false start on the ensuing third-and-long, and the Chargers essentially can’t convert. K Dustin Hopkins hits a 35-yard field goal. Texans, 17-15

Texans 6th drive () — The Texans’ run game continues to pound the Chargers, and Mills converts two third-and-6 plays to have the Texans knocking on the door, first-and-goal from the Chargers’ 4-yard line to start the fourth quarter.
