Texans vs Broncos: Point spread, over/under for Week 14

The Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos face off for a Week 14 encounter at NRG Stadium at noon CT. While it may be a battle between an 8-4 squad atop their division going against a club hoping to avoid the division basement, the Texans know they can’t take the Broncos lightly.

Odds-makers are giving the Texans the advantage at -7.5, according to BetMGM, and those odds represent the fifth-largest odds of Week 14. Only the Packers (-12.5), Vikings (-12.5), Eagles (-9.5), and Browns (-8.5) have better odds.

The over/under for the game is 41.5, which are the second-lowest of Week 14. The only game with a lower over/under is Cincinnati-Cleveland at 40.5.

There have been five games in series history where the Texans and Broncos have combined for 41-plus points. The most recent was in 2013 when both sides posted 50 in a 37-13 Broncos victory in Week 16.

There have been two games in series history where the two sides combined for fewer than 41 points. The most recent game was last season in Week 9 when Houston prevailed 19-17 over the Broncos.

With quarterback Deshaun Watson leading the Texans, it should be easy for the Texans to get a win against Denver, perhaps by a touchdown or more. With rookie quarterback Drew Lock under center for the Broncos, it makes the proposition of the game producing 41-plus points a little harrowing.
