Texans to start OT Roderick Johnson in place of Seantrel Henderson

The Houston Texans will start offensive tackle Roderick Johnson for their Week 2 match-up with the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at NRG Stadium.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans will start Johnson at right tackle and leave Seantrel Henderson, who was the starter in Week 1, on the bench. It will make for the second straight season that Henderson started in Week 1 but did not start the next week. Last year, it was due to a broken ankle. In 2019, it is due to under performing.

Also starting on the offensive line is rookie Tytus Howard, who will be making his debut at left guard. Veteran Senio Kelemete started at left guard in New Orleans.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson sustained six sacks in the Week 1 loss at the New Orleans Saints. With the Texans starting Howard and Johnson, it shows they are still working out the right combination to keep Watson upright and also open up running lanes.
