Texans, Titans move on to AFC divisional round

Though the Indianapolis Colts are watching the playoffs at home and not competing like they had hoped, two of their division foes in the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans both moved on to the AFC divisional round following their big wins on Saturday.

Both games were extremely competitive. The Texans got down early 13-0 at the half against the Buffalo Bills—and at one point faced a 16-0 deficit—Houston rallied back to score 19 unanswered points and force overtime.

Thanks to a big second half from Deshaun Watson, who made some incredible plays to keep drives alive, the Texans came out on top 22-19 thanks to a Ka’imi Fairbairn 28-yard field goal to win the game in overtime.

Now, the Texans will travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Jan. 12 at Arrowhead Stadium for the divisional round.

On the other side, the Titans had the pleasure of being the ones to begin the end of the New England Patriots dynasty. In a 20-13 win at Gillette Stadium, the Titans won behind their stout defense and the ridiculous play of running back Derrick Henry.

Continuing his stellar season, Henry took 34 carries for 182 yards and a touchdown. He also added a 22-yard reception in the passing game. The game was sealed when Logan Ryan caught a tipped pass from Tom Brady for an interception and walked into the end zone to give the Titans a bigger lead with nine seconds remaining in the game.

Now, the Titans will be on the road to take on the NFL’s best team in the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 11.
