The Houston Texans have signed former New York Jets outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins to a two-year contract.
According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the contract has a maximum value of $8 million with a base value of $6 million.
Jenkins, a former 2016 third-round pick for New York, took to Twitter to express his thankfulness to play for the Jets while expressing enthusiasm to play for the Texans.
“Put it all out there on the field during my time with the Jets, battle through torn labrums, bruised ribs, etc.,” Jenkins tweeted. “Will always be thankful for the @nyjets for drafting me. Excited to start this new chapter in life.”

Jenkins provided the Jets with 22.5 sacks, 46 quarterback hits, 25 tackles for loss, and 189 combined tackles in 72 career games, 62 of which he started.
The 6-3, 259-pound outside linebacker played 2020 on a one-year deal worth $3.75 million with $3.25 million guaranteed and a $1.75 million signing bonus. Jenkins missed the final four games with a torn labrum that required surgery, collecting 32 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, and a forced fumble.
