According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans added rookie defensive tackle Javier Edwards to their practice squad Tuesday. Edwards was one of the cuts the Texans made as they trimmed from a 90-man to a 53-man roster on Aug. 31.
A Blinn Junior College product, Edwards ran a 4.97 in his 40-yard dash, benched 31 times at 225 pounds, and squatted 550 pounds at his pro day workout. While at Colorado, Edwards earned all-Pac 12 honors while collecting 33 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack in nine starts with the Buffaloes as a junior.
