Texans should have a busy offseason

Having $77,969,917 in cap space is huge for the Houston Texans and second year general manager Brian Gaine. This offseason, Gaine will have the leash taken off and be allowed to sign some players and mold this Texans roster the way he seems fit.

Gaine showed last offseason that he is not afraid of going after big names players. Singing former Arizona Cardinal safety Tyrann Mathieu to a one-year prove it deal worked out well for both Mathieu and Texans. Let’s not forget trading for former Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas at the trade deadline after former first-round pick Will Fuller was injured for the rest of the season.

This is really the first offseason for Gaine to flex his GM skills. Having the cap space and now a first round draft pick paired with two second round draft picks in this upcoming NFL draft, fans should be excited to see how Gaine shapes Houston this offseason.

With rumors of Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Le’Veon Bell and wide out Antonio Brown both possibly being available, and with Texans own stars like Mathieu and Clowney being free agents, Gaine has a plethora of ways to get this Texans team to the next level. There should be little doubt that Gaine can and will make this team better for the 2019 season.
