The Houston Texans selected San Diego State tight end Kahale Warring 86th overall in Round 3 of the 2019 NFL draft Friday.
The 6-6, 250-pound redshirt junior joins a tight end corps that has solid depth in veteran Ryan Griffin and two second-year players in Jordan Thomas and Jordan Akins.
Warring caught 51 passes for 637 yards and eight touchdowns in his three seasons with San Diego State. In 2018, Warring produced 31 catches for 372 yards and three touchdowns.
The selection of Warring concludes the Texans’ picks for the second day, barring a trade back into the third round.
