Texans safety Justin Reid with just ‘a few bruises’ after car wreck

Houston Texans safety Justin Reid was involved in a car accident Saturday night.

According to the second-year defensive back’s personal Twitter account, Reid’s vehicle was struck from behind by a drunk driver.

Other than “a few bruises,” the safety reported feeling fine, though he was reminded of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s car wreck in 2014.

Reid, who recorded 88 combined tackles in his rookie campaign, claimed that he felt better the day after the wreck than he did on some game days.

The Texans are counting on Reid to man a back end that last year featured Tyrann Mathieu and also was bolstered by Andre Hal. Mathieu is now in Kansas City and Hal retired.
