Texans safety Justin Reid comes off non-football injury list, ready to practice

The Houston Texans start off a Monday with good news as safety Justin Reid is available to practice after coming off of the non-football injury list.

The Texans placed the second-year safety on NFI to start training camp after he was in a car wreck on July 21.

Reid was a tremendous boon for the Texans last season, who did not have a first or second round pick. The third-round selection from Stanford played all 16 games, 12 of which he started, and collected 88 combined tackles, three interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and 10 pass breakups.

Reid’s stay on NFI was not expected to be for long. Now, the Texans secondary can truly get to work not that one of its young leaders is back in the fold.
