Texans redecorate inside of NRG Stadium to simulate a Saints home game

The Houston Texans know they are going into a hostile environment when they face the New Orleans Saints on Monday night, and they are trying to use every tactic they can to prepare for the heavily partisan crowd at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

According to Texans Radio Network play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer, the club dressed up the interior of NRG Stadium to emulate a Saints game as best as they possibly could — short of filling the stands with diehard fans eager to see the NFC South champions from a season ago prevail. But they gave it their best shot.

The Texans are 2-2 against the Saints in the regular season, with the home team winning every game. Sept. 9 will be the first prime-time game in the series; all other games have been the early kickoff on Sundays. The Saints were 2-0 in prime-time games at home in 2018, while all of the Texans’ prime-time games were at home and they compiled a 3-0 mark.
