Texans receivers DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller comprised a deadly duo in 2018

The Houston Texans are lucky enough, or smart enough depending on how you look at it, to now have one of the most potent receiving duos in the NFL with DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

Pro Football Focus has ranked the deadly “dreaded duo”, as they are becoming known, both in the top three wide receivers in the AFC South last season. This is particularly impressive from Fuller when you consider that he only played seven games due to injury.

In their three seasons as teammates, Hopkins and Fuller have combined for 41 touchdowns and 5,465 receiving yards – although it is worth noting that the majority of those stats are thanks to Hopkins.

Most promising for the Texans, however, is that with the more recent additions of quarterback Deshaun Watson to finally take up the role of franchise QB, and Keke Coutee the prodigiously talented slot receiver, this passing offense is all but complete.

All the Texans need now is for a full season where all these pieces make it through uninjured, a real issue with Fuller and Coutee in particular which is a real shame when you consider how potent this offense could become.

Fingers crossed for the Texans’ sake 2019 is finally the year this offense lights up.
