Texans RB D’Onta Foreman rides to support Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

NFL players are known for their work within their own, and others’ charitable foundations, with the J.J. Watt Charity Classic softball game last Saturday, and linebacker Whitney Mercilus’ “Cocktails 4 a cause” the Friday prior as two examples of recent fundraiser events.

Running back D’Onta Foreman, another of Houston’s own, has been down in H-Town to support a charitable cause run by Polaris, makers of the three-wheeled sports car, the Slingshot.

“My experience with the Sling community has been great,” Foreman said. “They welcomed me with open arms and everything about it has been fun. I’ve been having a great time with it ever since.”

Because of the open cabin design of the Slingshot, the Texans running back is a recognizable operator on Houston roadways.

“A lot took a lot of pictures, a lot of people waving,” said Foreman. “There’s no doors, so a lot of people know me when I drive.”

As an owner of the roadster, Foreman turned up at a local event for Slingshot owners where they attended “The Sling Experience,” which gave children suffering from cancer an opportunity to ride in a sports car to raise money for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

Foreman is also involved in the D’Onta Foreman Family Foundation. The former 2016 Doak Walker Award winner tore his Achilles in his rookie season and was limited to two games in 2018. However, the former Texas Longhorn has not been limited in his community outreach and helping others less fortunate.
