Texans QB Deshaun Watson tied for most 4th quarter TD passes in 2020

Deshaun Watson always gave the Houston Texans a chance in 2020.

Despite the fact the AFC South champions from a season ago finished 4-12, it wasn’t as if the Texans gave up the ghost in all 12 of those losses. Houston was 2-8 in games decided by eight points or less. The Texans were battling and scrapping all the way until the clock struck 0:00, and Watson was leading the charge, never acquiescing to defeat, no matter what Houston’s record was.

According to new data from Pro Football Focus, the three-time Pro Bowler threw 13 fourth quarter touchdown passes in 2020, tied with the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins for the most in the NFL.

New Texans general manager Nick Caserio knows how valuable Watson is as a quarterback.

“He’s our quarterback,” Caserio said. “Quite frankly he’s a big part of the reason why over the last two seasons when we faced the Texans that New England came out on the losing side of the ledger.”

The Texans have to find a way to bring Watson into the fold in order to have a successful 2021. Otherwise, Houston will miss out on tremendous fourth quarter production.
