Texans QB Deshaun Watson says J.J. Watt is unchanged in his methodical approach

It is no secret what Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is capable of. The 30-year-old may have suffered some horrendous injuries throughout the last few years, some that would have easily derailed the careers of lesser mortals, but Watt is made of something different.

It is such consistency that separates Watt from the rest of the pack, and someone with front row seats to the work Watt has put in is quarterback Deshaun Watson.

“He’s a guy that’s very consistent,” Watson told reporters Tuesday after the first day of minicamp. “As you guys know, he’s going to come in each and every day, be the first one here and last one to leave, put in extra work, bring up the young guys and go hard each and every day.”

Watt’s legendary work ethic is very well known around the league, and the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is seemingly far from done.

“Nothing’s changed, and he’s going to continue to get better, find ways to get better, if not win the defensive MVP, and continue to try to help this team win. That’s what he’s been doing,” proclaimed Watson.

Watt may well be approaching the twilight of his career, but having lost almost two full seasons to injuries, he may well continue to be a crucial piece for this Texans defense for some time to come.
