Texans QB Deshaun Watson says eye is fine, he’s ‘ready to go’ vs. Jaguars

On Sunday, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was kicked in the eye while completing a miraculous go-ahead touchdown pass to beat the Oakland Raiders. He ended the play face-down on the turf, receiving medical attention, and ultimately finished the game with a swollen left eye.

Watson, at his Houston Halloween Bash event at Pro-Vision Charter Academy on Tuesday, gave an update on his eye — which showed less swelling but remained red.

“I’m feeling well. It’s just the eyeball is red a little bit, it’s still swollen,” said Watson.

Watson’s eye didn’t hold him back from beating the Raiders. Nor will it hold him back on playing this Sunday in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“I’m all good and ready to go,” said the 24-year-old.

Despite the injury, Watson was all smiles at his first charity event. He is hoping that continues on Sunday as he seeks a sweep of Houston’s division rivals.
