Every week, FedEx names one NFL quarterback as their Air NFL Player of the Week who delivered the best performance for both their fans and teammates. In an absolute shock decision, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been named their Air NFL Player of the Week.
This comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody, following Watson’s 426 yards, five-touchdown, zero interception, and perfect 158.3 QB rating performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5.
The Texans beat the Falcons 53-32 with 592 yards on offense, highlighted by wide receiver Will Fuller’s 217 yards performance, capped off by three touchdowns and very nearly another two stopped on the goal line.
Watson is the first Texan to win either Air or Ground NFL Player of the Week this season. As a result of this award, FedEx will be donating $2,000 to The USO in the quarterback’s name.
The former Clemson standout is joined by Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after rushing for four touchdowns and 107 yards against the Dallas Cowboys.
