Texans promote ILB Tyrell Adams to active roster, other roster moves

The Houston Texans front office has been busy making moves today, promoting inside linebacker Tyrell Adams to the active roster in the place of veteran offensive lineman Senio Kelemente who has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Along with these moves, the Texans opted to release undrafted rookie wide receiver Tyron Johnson just one day after he signed for the team’s practice squad. In corresponding news, the team filled their practice squad openings with wide receiver Chad Hansen and offensive tackle Christian DiLauro.

Adams entered the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2015. Since then he has gone on to play for multiple teams including a stint with the Texans last season, during which he made four appearances and recorded three combined tackles.

Starting guard Kelemente has been out of the active lineup since Week 1 with a shoulder injury, and with the emergence of rookies Tytus Howard and Max Scharping as guards, it seems the organization did not deem it necessary to replace him with another lineman.
