Texans pick Miami TE Brevin Jordan No. 147 overall in Round 4 of 2021 NFL draft

The Houston Texans are bolstering their tight end group.

With the 147th overall pick in Round 4 of the 2021 NFL draft, the Texans selected former Miami tight end Brevin Jordan.

Jordan had 38 catches for 576 yards and seven touchdowns through eight games in 2020.

The Texans already have six tight ends on the roster in Jordan Akins, Antony Auclair, Pharaoh Brown, Ryan Izzo, Paul Quessenberry, and Kahale Warring.

The 6-3, 245-pound tight end from Bishop Gorman High School outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, was a two-time all-ACC second-team in 2018 and 2020. He made all-ACC first-team in 2019.

General manager Nick Caserio told reporters at the end of day two on April 30 that the Texans wouldn’t be committed to any particular position.

“It’s always relative to what your other options are and how you feel about those players and what your evaluation of those players are,” said Caserio. “So, again, it’s not one factor, it’s not one person, it’s not one thing, there’s just a myriad of things that go into it and in the end, like, that’s my responsibility to our organization, to our coaching staff, and our scouting staff and maybe I can take the heat off their shoulders.”
