Texans like where WR Will Fuller is health wise, unsure of RB Duke Johnson

The Houston Texans may have one of their injured skill position players for the Pittsburgh Steelers but not both.

Coach Bill O’Brien gave an update on the status of receiver Will Fuller and running back Duke Johnson ahead of Wednesday’s practice. Fuller had been limited to one carry due to a hamstring issue in the 33-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, while Johnson did not play the game at all after spending the entire week limited with an ankle injury.

“I think Duke is day to day,” O’Brien said. “I feel good about where Will is at. I’d say Duke is day to day.”

If Fuller were to miss Sunday’s game, it would be the first game of the season he has missed with an injury, and mark all five of his seasons as being incomplete with a game missed due to injury.

In Johnson’s absence, the Texans elevated veteran running back C.J. Prosise from the practice squad to the game day roster. Prosise was added to the team’s protected list for the practice squad, and his promotion to the active roster by Sunday could be another possibility.
