Texans’ Keke Coutee led all rookie receivers in catch percentage

Rookie receiver Keke Coutee was special for the Houston Texans in 2018, but the fourth-round pick from Texas Tech led the entire rookie class in catch percentage.

According to data released from Pro Football Focus, the former Lufkin Panther had a catch rate of 73.7 percent, which led the entire NFL’s 2018 receiver class.

Coutee played in six regular season games for the Texans, and they had a perfect 6-0 record. The 5-11, 180-pound wideout caught 28 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown. In the Texans’ 21-7 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC wild-card, Coutee was the only thing cooking for the Houston offense as he hauled in 11 passes for 110 yards and the Texans’ lone touchdown.

Coutee’s hamstrings kept him off the field for a majority of the 2018 season. The ex-Red Raider says he is feeling 100 percent, and Houston fans are hoping that sustained health carries through the entirety of 2019.
