Texans defensive end J.J. Watt arrived at Soldier Field on Sunday wearing Chicago gear: the jersey of his wife Kealia, who plays soccer for the Red Stars, and a matching fuzzy hat.
Watt donned a replica white Red Stars jersey with his wife’s name and No. 2 on the back. He posted two pictures on his Twitter page of himself walking off the Texans bus toward the visiting locker room.
In January, the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League traded Kealia Ohai to the Red Stars. The next month, she and Watt married in the Bahamas. She lives in Chicago during the soccer season.

Watt, a Pewaukee, Wis., native and Wisconsin alum, said earlier this week he was excited to eat Chicago food on Saturday night. He grew up playing youth hockey in the area, and had circled the Portillo’s and Lou Malnati’s near the team hotel and potential delivery options.
“My wife lives there now, so I’ve obviously had a lot of food in the area — Robert’s Pizza and Dough,” he said Wednesday. “There’s a whole bunch of good places to eat there that it’s gonna be very difficult for me not to order a little delivery service. But I am looking forward to playing in Soldier Field.”
