Texans’ J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins land back-to-back on NFL Network’s Top 100 list

As NFL Network’s Top 100 list nears its finale, two Houston Texans placed in the top 15.

Defensive end J.J. Watt came in at No. 12 and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was No. 11 on Tuesday night.

Watt, who played in just a total of eight games from 2016-2017, returned to All-Pro status in 2018 with 16 sacks and a league-leading seven forced fumbles. If anyone in the NFL forgot about Watt, he quickly reminded them he was not finished.

Hopkins, who made his first All-Pro list in 2017 when he played with the likes of Tom Savage and T.J. Yates for nine games, maintained his play in 2018 with 115 catches for 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns. The catch total tied Andre Johnson’s single-season Texans record set in 2008.

That two Texans players are considered to be in the top 15 of the NFL shows the cornerstone talent coach Bill O’Brien has to work with.

Watson placed No. 51 overall on the list, while defensive end Jadeveon Clowney landed at No. 63 overall.
