Texans have $46 million left in salary cap space

After the moves the Houston Texans made in free agency, the club has $46 million left in salary cap space, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The biggest contract the Texans have handed out so far has gone to safety Tashaun Gipson. The club also has a $15.9 million franchise tender for edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney, though that is a fluid number as the June 15 deadline is what will really lock in that number.

Houston also signed defensive end Angelo Blackson to a $12 million contract, and the club also signed cornerback Bradley Roby from the Denver Broncos for $10 million.

The tender placed on restricted free agent kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn costs $3.1 million, and the tenders for linebacker Brennan Scarlett and Brandon Dunn, also restricted free agents, amount to a little over $2 million.

Houston signed defensive end Joel Heath to a $1.6 million contract, and they also signed receiver DeAndre Carter to a one-year contract worth $570,000.
