Texans drop pursuit of Patriots’ Nick Caserio as general manager

The Houston Texans have dropped their pursuit of New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle was the first to report.

As a result, the Patriots are dropping their tampering charges against the Texans.

Senior executive vice president of football administration Chris Olsen will remain as interim general manager for Houston until a suitable replacement for Brian Gaine, who was fired on June 7, is hired.

The Texans have interviewed former Cleveland Browns general manager Ray Farmer and former Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew for the vacancy.
