Texans’ Deshaun Watson’s cleats are on their way to the Hall of Fame

Deshaun Watson will have to buy a new pair of his signature all-red cleats. The NFL is sending his Nike cleats from Week 5 to the Hall of Fame after performing a historical performance in a Houston Texans 53-32 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Watson went 28 for 33 for 426 yards and five touchdowns to no interceptions on the day. He wasn’t sacked once, ran for 47 yards on four attempts and recorded a perfect 158.3 passer rating. A genuinely outstanding stat line; one that has never been done before.

The Texans quarterback is the only in NFL history to pass for at least 400 yards and five touchdowns with five-or-fewer incompletions. That’s enough to send his red cleats to Canton, Ohio.

Watson threw for five touchdowns and no interceptions for the third time in his career on Sunday. He’s done so in just 28 games, which makes him by far the fastest to reach that accomplishment. Who did he beat? Peyton Manning (99 games).

It’s fair to say that Watson’s red cleats are deserving of the Hall of Fame.
