Texans DE J.J. Watt yells ‘play ball’ for Houston Astros vs. Washington Nationals World Series Game 1

How do you get the Houston sports crowd that’s already stoked for their Astros being in the World Series to blow the roof off Minute Maid Park with excitement for Game 1?

Have living legend, Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, announce “play ball” at the Juice Box.

The Texans have been very demonstrative in their support for the Astros with Watt wearing a backwards Jose Altuve jersey as he arrived to Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday for the Texans’ Week 7 encounter with the Indianapolis Colts. Coach Bill O’Brien has also expressed his support for the Astros publicly in his press conferences.

“What’s going on? I’m J.J. Watt here for the Houston Astros’ World Series. This place is going to be nuts. Let’s go Stros,” Watt said in a video prior to announcing “play ball.”

The last time the Astros won the World Series, the Texans finished 4-12 on the season. In 2019, the Texans are hopeful they can ride the wave of postseason success the Astros are bringing to the Bayou City and keep the excitement alive for Houston sports fans well into January and beyond.
