Texans DE J.J. Watt questionable to return against Raiders with shoulder injury

The Houston Texans have been the walking wounded on defense as they engage the Oakland Raiders for Week 8 at NRG Stadium.

Add defensive end J.J. Watt to that list. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year left the game and headed to the locker room late in the second quarter with what the team is calling a shoulder injury. Watt is questionable to return.

The Texans have also had some trouble in the secondary as rookie cornerback Lonnie Johnson is being evaluated for a concussion.

Houston had starting cornerbacks Bradley Roby and Johnathan Joseph out along with safety Tashaun Gipson. If Watt is unable to return, it will severely impact the Texans’ ability to rush quarterback Derek Carr and stop the Raiders’ rushing attack.
